New Poll: Trump Easily Leads Haley in South Carolina GOP Primary
February 13, 2024
Former U.S. President Donald Trump holds a strong lead over Nikki Haley in the South Carolina Republican primary ahead of the 2024 election, according to a new poll released today by the FAU Political Communication and Public Opinion Research Lab (PolCom Lab) and Mainstreet Research.
The poll found 65 percent of likely Republican primary voters support Trump, compared to just 23 percent backing Haley. Trump holds commanding leads among men, older voters, and self-identified Republicans. Haley fares better among younger voters and women, but she still trails Trump significantly and across most groups.
PolCom Lab Moves Into the Classroom
January 29, 2024
New things are coming to expand the PolCom Lab both physically and pedagogically. This semester, more than a dozen local and international pollsters, political reporters, politicians, and professors will visit a polling class taught by Robert E. Gutsche, Jr.
That class is focused on sharing what the PolCom Lab is doing — and how — and to engage and energize the next (and current) generation of pollsters, citizens who can engage with the meanings of data, and professionals communicating important issues of the day.
